My Life as a Teenage Robot X

Chapter One: The Tradeshow

The tradeshow. Dr. Wakeman had taken Jenny there with her to see all sorts of new inventions, and to show her daughter off to rival scientists. However, Jenny only wished to find another robot capable of understanding her and holding a meaningful conversation. However, all she found were robots that were capable of performing menial tasks, ones that had no rationality or thought processes. This was not where she wanted to be.

She sighed, and said to herself, "I highly doubt that there's anything here that could possibly understand me...I wanna have a new friend, but the way things are looking, it's just not gonna happen." Jenny continued to walk around the show floor, occasionally shooting a glance towards some giant factory robot or a simple home cleaning droid. None of these interested her in the least bit, and she continued her stroll around the exhibits.

Suddenly, something caught her eye. She looked up and found a banner for a section of the tradeshow that read, "Failed Concepts and Deactivated Robots." She sighed once again, and said to herself, "Well, what the heck, I'll just take a look." She walked into the area where no one else was.

As Jenny walked around, she saw plenty of stiff, unmoving and deactivated robots of all shapes and sizes. Some were simple, some looked complicated. She inspected all of them, noticing every exposed circuit and body structure. She frowned, realizing that some of them could have been like her, but would never be given the chance at life.

Jenny continued exploring the dark section of the show, when she noticed something peculiar. At the end of a corridor with huge industrial-sized robots, there was a glass capsule with something inside of it. She ran over to it and gasped when she saw what was inside. It looked like a human, with spiky brown hair, small ears, human-like "skin," closed eyes, a pointed nose, and a rather serious expression. She recognized it as a robot, however, and looked at its armor. There was a black covering on all parts of his body, and on top of that were white plates on his chest, shoulders, back, upper and lower arms, hands, waist, knees, and boots. An insignia was on the chest plate, a red X.

"Woah," Jenny said, breathlessly. "He looks so much like a human, it's amazing that he isn't. He was probably capable of doing stuff that I can do. I wonder if there's a description of him on this capsule..." Sure enough, at the base of the capsule, there was a plaque. She began to read aloud.

"Name; Mega Man X. Creator; Dr. Light. Robotic Nature; Global Response Unit. Description; In the year 2030, during the Maverick Crisis, X was reactivated from a slumber of 20 years by Dr. Cain to fight for the survival of mankind. He was capable of human emotion, thought, and other such things, and was modeled as a 20 year-old man. X was created by Dr. Light to vanquish evil creations by a mad scientist who, long before the Sigma Crisis, attempted to take over the world numerous times. However, X thwarted each and every attempt. He was considered a hero, and became part of the Reploid army, in the hopes of defending mankind."

"During the Sigma Crisis, X fought against the 20 Maverick commanders and destroyed them all. In a final confrontation with Sigma, X emerged victorious and brought peace to the world. However, it seemed that he was no longer needed, and was therefore shut down. He has been in a state of suspended animation ever since 2032, which is when the war ended."

"X has extremely complicated weapon systems that allow him to absorb the abilities of any enemy he defeats, and use them as his own. For instance, once he defeated the Maverick commander Magma Dragoon, he received the Flame Uppercut ability. But this is not X's only method of defense. He also has two palm busters that look like gems, one in each hand. He fires rapid shots of plasma energy, and is capable of charging these shots up to release devastating blasts. X is also equipped with a beam saber. It is a highly condensed sword-like photon particle beam which comes out of a device that, many people have said, looks like a lightsaber from Star Wars. X is extremely proficient in the use of this sword and his palm busters."

Jenny looked at X inside of the capsule with a sad expression. She placed her hand on the glass. "You poor guy, having been asleep for so long. I wish you could somehow come out of your hibernation..." Jenny gave him one last look before walking off to the other exhibits.

Inside of the capsule, X's hands began to twitch...
